Athletic Hall of Fame
About
The Athletic Hall of Fame is designed to honor former athletes at Fayetteville State University who have contributed immeasurably to the FSU athletic program and who continue to exemplify high principles of good sportsmanship through their contributions and achievements as citizens in their respective communities. Posthumous nominations may be made no later than five years after death.

Board of Directors
The 15-member Board of Directors is responsible for: (1) formulating and recommending policies governing the Athletic Hall of Fame; (2) evaluating biographical data of nominees; and (3) recommending candidates for induction. The Hall of Fame induction ceremony is held annually during the homecoming weekend.

| Criteria for Nominators: |
Must be an active member of the FSU Alumni Association, Athletic Club, a coach, university faculty member or administrator, or Hall of Fame Selection Committee member. Alumni chapters making a nomination must be chartered in FSU National Alumni Association. The Athletic Director shall receive all nominations for induction during the months of December through June of each year. |
| Criteria for Players: |
(1) must have been a bona fide student at FSU, with minimum of two years of participation in athletics; (2) must have lettered in at least one varsity sport; (3) must have been out of competition a minimum of 5 years; (4) must be a contributor to FSU and/or the Alumni Association; (5) must have been of outstanding quality, high moral character, integrity and held in high esteem by his/her colleagues; and (6) must have proven self in university service, his/her sport and to his/her community. |
| Criteria for Coaches: |
(1) must have served as FSU Head Coach at least five years; (2) must have coached one championship team conference – regional or national; (3) must have contributed significantly to the progress and development of his/her community: and (4) must have won 60% of his/her games at FSU. No more than two coaches may be selected over a five-year period. Former coaches may be eligible if currently coaching at a rival institution. |
| Criteria for Athletic Directors: |
(1) must have served at FSU for at least five years; (2) must have contributed to at least one championship conference, regional or national during tenure; (3) must have shown program growth winning teams, attendance, new programs, stadium and arena finances during tenure; and (4) must have contributed significantly to the development of student athletes. Athletic directors will be eligible five years after serving. |
| Special Category for Non-athletes: |
Although non-athletes cannot be inducted into the Hall of Fame, they may receive recognition and a certificate of service. They must have significantly supported the Bronco Athletic Program through cash, gifts, or gifts-in-kind and have contributed significantly to the progress and development of his/her community. No more than two non-athletes may be selected over a five-year period. |
